Today we went to a re-creation of an Antarctic exploration camp. Quite impressive. Saw lots of live penguins and large sting rays in pools and walked through a glass enclosed tunnel with sharks, sting rays and other assorted swimming creatures swimming all around us.
Weather has been a bit of a surprise – hot and very very humid. Hopefully, this will not last too long. Everyone says this is not typical. No air-conditioning anywhere – even at the incredible French restaurant we had dinner at. Rated the best in the city. The food was absolutely incredible, but the very attentive staff was so conscious of the next seating, that they wouldn’t let us have coffee or dessert at the table we were at because of their schedule. We were discreetly told we would have to go the bar to have it. We found that very unusual to say the least. They actually did us a favor – we didn’t need the extra calories so we passed the dessert & coffee. You get sticker shock when you see prices and then you realize we are enjoying a .52 exchange rate!
